Here's what you should expect
It is recommended that you have your eyes tested every two years, even if they seem to be in perfect condition. You should schedule an appointment with us as soon as possible if you are experiencing discomfort or have concerns. Still not convinced? Here are some tell-tell signs your eyes need testing, along with what to expect during an eye exam with us.
- Account registration with The Eye Doctors
- Comprehensive eye exam on all optical and ophthalmic conditions and complaints
- Free Mint prescription card delivered to you after completion.
- Glasses prescription
- Time to ask the doctor any eye care questions
During the examination, a concise history is taken. Questions about the eye complaint(s) are asked - onset, duration, precipitants, relieving factors, associated features (pain, redness, discharge, photophobia, etc). Past ophthalmic, medical, family, social, drug and allergy histories are noted.

Even if your eyes feel healthy, we recommend getting them checked every two years. The condition of our eyes changes with age, so knowing what’s happening to yours is important.
We use cutting-edge technology to conduct a comprehensive eye health screening – not just a vision test.
A comprehensive eye test will assess your eyes for common refractive errors (or vision conditions), including:
Having difficulty seeing distant objects due to myopia
Close-up vision problems are known as hyperopia
Inconsistency in corneal curvature causes astigmatism: A distortion of vision
The inability to read at arm’s length is referred to as presbyopia
Based on the condition of your eyes, we can determine how much correction you need in your lenses. Your prescription contains a series of numbers representing these corrections.
Even during your lunch break, you can book a single-vision or varifocal eye exam, which takes about 30 minutes.
You can book a spot at a store near you easily. You can book a time slot by clicking “Book now” on this page.
By clicking “Book now,” on this page or any other page on our website, you will be able to find your nearest store. Then follow the steps to pick a time slot. Here's how you should prepare
In preparation for your eye exam, you should gather the following information:
- Your medical history and that of your family
- And any symptoms you are experiencing related to your eyes or vision
- Medications you are taking (including non-prescription medications)
- A confirmation email of your appointment or booking
- Questions you would like to ask your eye doctor
If you wear corrective lenses, such as your current glasses, you should bring them to your eye appointment.
Last but not least, you should bring sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during the exam. The drops used to dilate your pupils can cause sensitivity to light and blurred vision for a few hours after the dilation.
You might also ask a trusted person to drive you home from the optometrist's office if it isn't walkable from your location.
